What: Saviour
Scraps has created an interactive weaving project on the porch of one
20th century Dutch house on Govenors Island.
Bring:
The weaving installation encourages open participation - we provide
the loom, and you weave the piece. Bring any fabric scraps, or old clothes
that you would like to integrate into this collective weaving project
that evolves with the participation of the viewer. There will be plenty
of fabric on site as well.
When:
Open every weekend May 31 – July 26.
Directions: Take the free ferry from Battery Park. On the weekend,
the subway lines to Lower Manahttan don't run on the weekday schedule.
So, you can only take the R to Whitehall St. Station, or the 1 to Chambers
st, and on Saturdays a free shuttle will run from Chambers St to South
Ferry Station. Walk south and ask anyone directions to the Staten Island
Ferry which is adjacent to the Govenors Island Ferry. For more complete

Emergence: is a summer exhibition of experimental and participatory art involving more than 30 artists/collectives, with strong emphasis on audience and artist interaction. The exhibition will open on May 31st, coinciding with the grand opening of Govenors Island to visitors for the season.
